We spend a lot of time in our home, and our kitchens are obviously one of the places we frequent most often. It is the place where we gather, eat, and sometimes just hang out and drink coffee. If your kitchen looks like it could fit into a circa 1970s episode of the Brady Bunch, or a 1980s episode of the Cosby Show, then it is probably time for a makeover. The good news is, as the attached video also discusses, is that you can also remodel your kitchen without mortgaging your children too.
The real question, however, is how do you really know when it is time to remodel your kitchen.
Obviously, if it has the look of a kitchen from the prehistoric ages, it is due, but the signs that you are due for a kitchen remodel project normally (and hopefully) aren’t that obvious. When determining the need for remodeling, there are three questions you need to ask yourself. The first question is, does your kitchen function properly? In other words, do the handles, outlets, and drawers all work the way they should? Next, is your kitchen comfortable. This includes cabinet and drawer space, in addition to cooking and countertop space. Last but not least, ask yourself, are you happy with your kitchen? If you have doubts about your kitchen in any of these areas, then it might be time for a kitchen remodel.
