In this video, you will learn that there are two styles of host clamps that can be used for your automobile or for home plumbing systems. The extra wide hose clamps that are used on vehicles today are very different than the older style hose clamps that were used on vehicles back in the day. In fact, if you use these older style clamps in your car, you may find that you experience leaks.

In fact, that’s exactly what happened to the person who made this video, when his coolant started leaking from his vehicle, even though he tried to tighten the clamp as much as possible.

Basically, old style hose clamps do not have the capacity to account for temperature changes. Traditionally, materials, such as metal and plastic, expand in the heat and contract in the cold. As such, when it gets hot or cold, your clamp may not be set to the exact tightness that you had it set at. This may not sound like a huge deal, but even small cracks or gaps allow things like fluid to leak out, which can lead to larger problems.

Extra wide hose clamps are far superior to clamps in the past, making them a great choice for use on your automobiles and your plumbing system.
